In Iran, the legal driving age is 18 years old. This means individuals must be at least 18 years old to obtain a driver’s license and legally operate a motor vehicle on public roads. However, there are different categories of driver’s licenses for various types of vehicles, and the requirements vary accordingly. As an example, to obtain a driver’s license for motorcycles that are more than 250cc in Iran, you need to be at least 23 years old, and to operate commercial vehicles like trucks or buses, you must be at least 21 years old. Additionally, Iran has strict traffic laws and regulations aimed at ensuring road safety, and all drivers are expected to adhere to these rules to prevent accidents and maintain order on the roads. Individuals need to undergo proper training and education before obtaining a driver’s license to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to drive safely.Cheap Car Rental in Iran

The process of obtaining a driver’s license in Iran involves several steps. Prospective drivers must first complete a comprehensive driver education program, which includes both theoretical and practical training on traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices. After completing the training program, individuals must pass a written exam to demonstrate their knowledge of traffic regulations. Once they have passed the written exam, they undergo a practical driving test to assess their driving skills. If successful, their driver’s license is granted and valid for 10 years. The newbie drivers are not allowed to drive on Iran roads for the first year.

There are no restrictions on the maximum driving age in Iran. However, when a driver’s age reaches 70 years old, he or she should be prepared for physical tests every 2 years to extend his or her driver’s license expiry.
